” I got to say I miss cold weather and layering! Living on this beautiful island can sometimes get a little too hot. The weather has been nice to us recently and has calmed and cooled down a bit and I have enjoyed this immensely. For today’s OOTD I decided to break out the leather and the fringes and the faux fur gillets. Hey, go big or go home, right? I just love the neutrality of this outfit and how the turquoise of the statement necklace makes everything come together. I added the little belt to accentuate my waist although it can also be worn loosely. I decided to layer the necklaces because I am a bit obsessed with the little dainty necklace and the turquoise reminds me of my favorite princess, Pocahontas. I would love to pair this outfit with nude booties, but its not cold enough for that. So on our less than hot nights, I will be throughly enjoying this outfit!”

In our pint-sized world, inspiration usually comes from our taller sisters. We tend to follow the trends that sometimes may not be meant for us. Insert petite celebrities. Googling a bit to prepare this post, I was amazed by the amount of celebrities who join the 5’4 and under ranks! Eva Longoria fits the mould perfectly! Her style is very much inspiration worthy. It is timeless, effortless and fun and even better, she is LATINA! It shows us how we can also rock any style as long as it is proportionate and adequate to our body type!
Here’s some Eva Longoria inspiration for your nights of Pinterest binge-scrolling!
Eva’s effortless Day look is one I love. Her pops of colors and prints combined with solid colors do not overpower her frame.
I love monochromatic looks and these go perfectly with her height and skin tone. I want to believe we are similar in both categories, therefore I am trying out these looks ASAP! Notice how Eva uses nude shoes, which help elongate her legs and figure. That is a very good tip for all petite girls! Use shoes in a shade complimentary to your skin color to create the illusion of longer legs!
These evening gowns are EVERYTHING! Goes to show you that with the right tailoring, any dress can look gorgeous on a petite dress. Solid colors are a petite girls best friend because they create continuity on the frame.
I love how Eva uses to very tricky trends and absolutely rocks them. Boyfriend Jeans and midi skirts can be tricky to style. The key lies in the right fit and length. By using a fitted top with the boyfriend jeans and a fitted top and blazer with the midi skirt, her figure is not lost and her height is not shortened.
Of course I had to include my favorite print, the stripes.. I am in love with both skirts and how beautiful they look on her!

Leopard prints used to remind me of the Jersey Shore and sassy 5 year olds. I would stay as far away as possible from anything leopard. I remember when it was the it thing back in school, to have EVERYTHING in your room decorated with an animal print and the louder, the better (The horror!). Recently, I have found myself wanting to purchase key pieces in leopard print. I just can’t get enough of it and throughout the seasons, I have learned just how to incorporate it in my wardrobe without it looking tacky or over the top. Fall is quickly approaching (after what it seems like the shortest summer ever! Thanks England!) and I am, once again, craving for some feline spots on my outfits. This trend was very much present in the catwalks last year, and this year, during PFW, the trend was seen walking down the Céline, Saint Laurent and Givenchy runways, among others. This is one of my favorite patterns and as I am learning to mix prints , I will definitely be on the lookout for new ways to style it! Tip: When mixing prints, think of the leopard print as a neutral! Here are some of my favorite ways to style the Leopard Prints in the closet! Enjoy!
